The Beach of La Caleta is located 10 minutes from Hermigua and is the best beach in the north of La Gomera. It is a sheltered cove with black sand, about 200 yards, led by a rock overlooking the coast and Mount Teide.

It’s a beach where families go in summer, a quiet and perfect time to visit it with children, a calm place to sunbathe, swim, read or a point of arrival or departure for the trails that run nearby.

Furthermore, the City of Hermigua has provided this place as it deserves: In addition to a bar kiosk powered by wind and solar PV, resident and visitor have a barbecuing area beside a wooden pergola that shades tables and benches to enjoy a meal. There is another area of tables and benches in front of the Hermitage of San Juan, in the shade of a small woodland. For the convenience of users there are also restrooms and showers available. In addition, you can enjoy a practice net for volleyball, beach volleyball or fut-volley.
